Frequently Asked Questions

General Info

While we have qualified and experienced staff who are able to provide a safe and nurturing environment for your child, we do require parents stay with their child at The Adventure Gym during all classes and Explorer’s time.

At The Adventure Gym, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our students and staff above all else. We have implemented rigorous safety protocols and measures to ensure a secure environment for everyone at our facility.

To maintain cleanliness, our mats, equipment, and toys undergo thorough sanitization twice daily. Our facility is cleaned before morning classes, during lunchtime, and after evening classes. Furthermore, once a week, we conduct a comprehensive deep cleaning and reset, temporarily closing our facility to ensure optimal cleanliness. Furthermore, we conduct regular inspections and maintenance to ensure that our equipment is in optimal working condition.

In order to minimize the risk of injuries, our facility features flooring that prioritizes impact absorption. While we know that accidents can happen, we want to assure you that we take every precaution to keep your child safe.

Our staff members undergo extensive training and closely supervise activities, providing proper guidance to ensure safety. However, similar to a lifeguard at a pool, our staff is vigilant in monitoring the gym floor and during Adult & Me classes you are your child’s first line of protection. Our staff is always going to assist you in keeping your child safe.

All our staff members are required to possess CPR and First Aid certifications before completing their training. Additionally, we have an onsite AED and Epi-Pen available.

(If your child requires an Epi-Pen, please note that ours is primarily for emergency purposes related to the owner’s son’s severe food allergies. However, we are more than willing to provide it to a parent in need. We kindly request that you do not rely on our Epi-Pen if your child requires one.)

Our utmost concern is your child’s well-being, and we strive to create a fun and safe environment where they can enjoy their time while minimizing the risk of injuries and illnesses.

To ensure the safety and cleanliness of the facility, we kindly request all participants to remove their shoes before entering the gym floor. Socks or bare feet are allowed in the Adventure Gym area. Going barefoot helps prevent damage to the play structures, mats, and other equipment. Lastly, it reduces the risk of slips and falls, promoting safety during active play.

We understand that some children may have specific medical or sensory conditions that make socks a necessity. In such cases, we allow children to wear socks with rubber grippers to provide the necessary grip and support. If your child requires this accommodation, please inform our staff, and we will work with you to ensure their comfort and safety.

In general, shoes are not allowed inside the Adventure Gym. However, exceptions are made for medical or sensory reasons. If your situation warrants this exception, please contact owner@adventure-gym.com and we will address your specific needs accordingly.

Yes, we offer age appropriate drop off programs for children ages 2-8. Our staff is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for your child. Drop off programs at The Adventure Gym include Toddler’s Day Out, Kid’s Night Out, Homeschool Drop Off Days and camps when PCSS is on breaks.

Community Story Time is a weekly event hosted by The Adventure Gym for all children and their families in the Upper Cumberland. We will read stories, sing songs, lead interactive activities, and have time for open play. This is free and a great opportunity for children to be exposed to music and literature, as well as the chance for families to connect with each other.

Explorer’s Time is a member exclusive open play experience like no other. During Explorer’s Time, there is no formal structure, allowing children to explore and have fun at their own pace.

Each week, we introduce different exciting and engaging items to spark your child’s curiosity and imagination. Your little explorers will have the opportunity to discover new toys, obstacles, and props each week, creating a dynamic environment that promotes learning through play.

We believe in the power of unstructured play to foster creativity, problem-solving skills, and social interaction. It’s a time for children to take the lead, make new friends, and explore their interests in a supportive and stimulating setting. We can’t wait to see your child’s eyes light up as they embark on a journey of discovery and pure joy.

At The Adventure Gym, the well-being and safety of all children attending our facility are our top priorities. In order to maintain a healthy environment, we have strict guidelines regarding illness.

We kindly request that if your child exhibits any signs of illness, they do not attend our facility. To ensure the well-being of all, we require that children remain symptom-free for a minimum of 24 hours before returning after any illness. In the case of a contagious illness diagnosis, we ask for a minimum of 48 hours of symptom-free recovery before returning.

If your child is diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), we understand the severity of this illness and its potential impact on young children. Therefore, we offer the option to pause your membership for 2-4 weeks to allow for a proper recovery period. To protect the vulnerable age group in our facility, we kindly request that children diagnosed with RSV do not return to The Adventure Gym earlier than 14 days after their diagnosis.

By adhering to these guidelines and protocols, we aim to maintain a healthy and safe environment for all children attending The Adventure Gym. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping everyone’s well-being in mind.

Our goal is to see your child happy and healthy in the gym. We will extend your class credits to make sure they do not expire while you are away and so there is no need for little ones to have FOMO. But please be advised, our staff have the discretion to ask families to come back at a late date. Remember our staff love kids, especially yours, so they are just trying to keep everyone safe.
